Province looking for feedback on new OHS Act

The provincial government is looking for feedback from Albertans regarding the new Occupational Health and Safety Act.

The new act, which will go into place on June 1, will define harassment and violence in all of its forms, and will require joint work site health and safety committees or a worker health and safety representative, depending on workplace size. The input from Albertans will help shape the specific rules around the new requirements to ensure fair and balanced legislation.

Overview

The Occupational Health and Safety Act (the act) establishes the minimum standards for healthy and safe workplaces in Alberta. These laws are supported through the internal responsibility system and enforced through compliance activities.
