COR & SECOR SUPPORT

The Alberta Government together with the Workers Compensation Board has developed Partnerships, the requirement of which is the much coveted and frequently sought Certificate of Recognition (COR), or Small Employer Certificate of Recognition (SECOR) for companies with 10 or less employees.

All-Safe HSE can assist companies with the procurement of the Alberta COR/SECOR though the following certification agencies:

  • Alberta Association of Safety Partnerships
  • Alberta Construction Safety Association
  • Alberta Manufacturer Safety Association
  • Alberta Municipal Health and Safety Association
  • Enform

As well as the Alberta COR standard, however, All-Safe HSE is available for developing company specific audit tools and for completing audits according the CSA and ISO Standards.

COR & SECOR SUPPORT SERVICES :

The SECOR Program provides an opportunity for small employers (10 or less employees including owners, managers, clerical/administrative staff, part-time workers, temporary staff, family members, and volunteers that are covered under the WCB account) to build a health and safety management system and achieve a Certificate of Recognition (COR).  The program is specifically designed to meet the application and training needs of small employers, while considering their resource limitations.

A Certificate of Recognition (COR) is awarded to employers who develop health and safety programs that meet established standards. Certificates are issued by Alberta Employment and Immigration and are co-signed by Certifying Partners. A COR recognizes that the employer’s health and safety management system has been evaluated by a certified auditor and found to meet Partnerships standards.

Effective health and safety management systems have been shown to have an impact on reducing injuries. Eliminating the social and financial effects of injuries can strengthen the business success of participating employers.

Achieving and maintaining a valid COR is required for earning a financial incentive through the WCB Partnerships in Injury Reduction (PIR) program. Also, it is not unusual for Alberta corporations to expect contractors bidding on contracts to hold a valid COR

In working with the COR/SECOR program, this Pre-Audit service will go through all the points of the COR/SECOR audit and outline your company’s strong and weak areas. This can potentially save thousands of dollars for your company in the COR process.
